   Introduction

tata tigor ev india

Tata Motors India has finally launched tata tigor ev, which is available for all people. After thorough testing of the corporate version, Tata is now sure about this Tigor and made this possible for all. Here are the details of the Tigor:

   Powerplant

tata tigor evTata Tigor EV is powered by 72V 3-phase AC induction motor which generates a maximum power of 35Kw at 4500 r/min and torque of 105 Nm at just 2500r/min. The torque output is quite similar to what we get in the petrol version, but this is available 1000 r/min before the petrol one. The battery powering the motor is of 21kwh capacity. This motor is coupled to a single-speed transmission which Tata says that is equivalent to automatic one.

As far as the performance figures go, Tata claims a 0-60 speed in just 12 secs. The car is also equipped with regenerative braking, which means the battery gets charged whenever we apply the brakes. For charging it is equipped with 15 kW DC fast charging as well as standard AC charging. The time taken in fast charging is about 2 hours from 0-80%. It takes a whole 11.5 hours for complete charging through AC charger. The range of this car on a single charge is around 213 kms, and the top speed is just 80 kmph.

   Exteriors

tata tigor evTigor EV is very similar to the regular version but added few tweaks to distinguish it. On the front we get a blue coloured EV badging on the left side of the hexagonal front grille. Moving to the side and we spot a slightly bigger blue EV decal on the front door with some circuit lines following it. What's new here are the 14-inch alloy wheels. The dimensions of EV versions are the same as regular. Moving forward we get to see piano black shark fin Antenna. The fuel filler cap is now the charging port where we connect the charger. It is highlighted with a funky sticker on it. The ground clearance is now at 167 mm.
On the rear, we now get crystal finished Tigor tail lamps which looks reasonable. The Tigor badge is followed by blue EV badge.

   Interiors

For the interiors, nothing much has changed. As we enter the cabin, we spot that an analogue battery percentage indicator replaces the tachometer. All other bits remain to be unchanged. The infotainment system is not a touch screen unit. The audio is supported by Harman, and we get an automatic Air conditioner.

The theme of the interiors is grey and black, supporting comfy seats. The 3-spoke steering wheel electrically power-assisted.
Safety

Tata has given dual front airbags as standard. The structure of the car is Energy Absorbing Structure as said by Tata. We even get Electronic brake distribution(EBD) as standard. The regenerative Braking system also helps in reducing the braking distance. It also has Automatic Door Lock and rear parking sensors.

For now, Tata is offering two colours, Pearlescent white and Egyptian Blue in the following trims:
Tigor EV XM Rs. 9.17 L
Tigor EV XT Rs. 9.26 L
