On March 8^th morning OLA and Co-Founder of OLA cabs tweeted and Unveiled the OLA FutureFactory Which when start will be the World Largest 2 wheelers and Ola electric scooter Factory in The World and most advance and sustainable. It is located in Krishnagiri, Tamil Nadu. It is on the 500 Acres land with 100 Acres of Forest on Site.

Electric scooter has been made possible as OLA has acquired ETERGO a Dutch startup for electric scooters. Ola scooters features a similar design as them. It looks retro classic with modern elements, this design is often referred as neo retro design. The scooter is seen to have alloy wheels, All LED lights with wrap around tail lamps. The front headlamp is round, and the overall design is very curved. The body panels will be of plastic and it has a small metal grab rail for the pillion. For braking duties front disc brake is clearly visible in the pictures along with a single sided front shock absorber. However the details aren't out yet, It will have a permanent magnet synchronous motor and would be belt driven. Range is expected to be around 100-150 kms.

Ola is preparing to launch the scooter in the second half of 2021. It will compete against Ather 450X, Bajaj Chetak and TVS iQube.

Bhavish Aggarwal also said, that it will have 10 Million per year production capacity which means 1 vehicle in every 2 seconds, and 3000 robots working alongside, and all the Operations in Factory are Carbon negative. Robots are sourced from ABB Robotics, Switzerland.

With the investment of 2000 crores OLA is ready to put OLA electric vehicles on the Global Map, Bengaluru firm is all set to Begin production. The estimated price of the Electric Scooter is less than 1 lakh. OLA is designing and Manufacturing its own battery, motors, computer and software to maintain the costs by making its own power cells. OLA is testing charging solutions and battery swapping stations. Last Year OLA electric acquired Amsterdam based Electric Scooter startup ETERGO BV to jumpstart its own scooter manufacturing.

This FutureFactory will be a great revolution if successful, it will give a great push to use of electric vehicles in India, with Tesla is still to make an Entry.
