2021 Ford Ecosport SE

Ford has launched a new variant of Ecosport. It is based on the Titanium S trim and is called as Ford Ecosport SE. It has been introduced for experimenting the customer for future changes in the car. Ford has this particular variant on sale in foreign markets.

What are changes?

The major changes lies in the styling of the car. Ecosport is the only car in the segment to have a rear hatch mounted spare wheel. It has been given off for this variant. The number plate position has been lifted up from bumper to the center of the tail-gate. There is also a chrome bar above it running between the tail-lamps. The styling of SE is similar to the international Ecosport. There is no spare wheel in the car, rather it gets puncture repair kit from the showroom. The kerb weight of the vehicle has gone down too.

Apart from this there are no changes in Ford Ecosport SE and S. If you are wondering wether a car could be sold without spare wheel, then yes. According to MoRTH a car can be sold without spare wheel only if it gets Tubeless tire, TPMS, puncture repair kit and could seat less than 9 passenger. Ecosport saw the scope and they skipped the spare wheel while fulfilling other criteria.
Ford Ecosport SE is avaialble in both petrol and diesel engine options. There is the same 1.5l Ti-VCT Petrol Engine producing 122 Ps and 149 Nm, this is a three cylinder unit. Then there is same 1.5l TDCi Diesel Engine producing 100Ps and 215 Nm. This is mated to 6-speed manual transmission. The feature list is also same, it has 6- airbags, ABS, EBD, ESP, Hill Hold Assist, Traction control, Automatic AC, touchscreen with Android and Apple connectivity. The Interiors are dark here and no one could spot the difference as there ain't one.

Ecosport S vs SE
