Tata Tigor Facelift BS6 Review || MotoJunkie

Introduction

Tata Motors India has recently given Tata Tigor a comprehensive update. Tigor is a sub-four metre compact sedan based out on Tata Tiago and is one of the successful car in its segment. It is small yet roomy on the inside, packs on the essential features according to its customer needs. Tigor is the only car in its segment to score 4-star in Global NCAP safety test. Let's look out what all have really changed in this update.

Engine

Revotron 1.2L Engine
The major update to Tigor is its engine, now it is BS6 compliant means it is cleaner and greener to the environment by emitting a little less pollutants. Tigor used to come with 1.2L revotron petrol engine and a 1.1L revotorq engine. Now the Revotorq diesel engine is discontinued. This 3-cylinder engine  produces 84PS of max power and 113Nm of max torque. The power figures are quite similar to the BS4 versions. This petrol engine is mated with 5-speed manual transmission as well as an AMT gearbox. The gearbox are similar and offer smooth shifts unless the AMT is a slow shifting unit on highways but for city use it is quite manageable.

Exteriors

Tata has given Tigor a completely new front fascia. This design language is called Impact2.0 which is carried over in Altroz, Nexon and as well as in Tiago.  Impact 2.0 refers to a bold and sharp exteriors while having a smooth and premium-ness in interiors.  Starting off front the new grill gets tri arrow motif which is chrome studded as well. The front face is somewhat inspired from Altroz so that they look like they belong to the same family.  The front bumper has also redesigned and is now sharper. It also gets new housing for the fog lamps with DRL led strip as well. The headlamps have been redesigned and houses a halogen projector. The lamps housing is sharper and is also supported by a chrome eyebrow which is continued in the bumper as well but in gloss black finish. It certainly looks good. There is a thick chrome strip running below the bumper across the front, below the headlamps too.
Moving to the side, it gets a new set of wheels. These 15 inch dual tone diamond cut wheels do really look upmarket and matches with the design updates given to Tigor. We get a chrome line running through the windows and also the door handles finished in chrome. The outside rear view mirrors are finished in piano black. There are no changes to the rear profile of the car and i don't think that it needed so.

Interiors

Impact 2.0 design language isn't just about the exteriors, interior of the Tigor has also been changed. We are welcomed by dual tone grey interiors. Next we see a new flat-bottom three-spoke steering wheel which has been carried over from Altroz. Tigor now gets an all new fully digital console instead of dials. To be honest, I personally loved the dials, but the majority likes techy-features so I can live with it. The tachometer is placed on the left, fuel gauge on the right and engine temp above it. The speedometer is in the center and all tell-tale lights on its both side.

The center infotainment is a 7-inch touch screen unit with Android Auto and Apple Carplay. Below lies control for the Automatic Air conditioner.
Here I wont be talking and praising about the safety of this car because every other person is doing that, just one line this is the safest car in its segment.
