Introduction
Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza is a sub 4-metre crossover SUV launched in 2016. It is the fourth SUV from Mauti Suzuki stable. The name was inspired from the big daddy Grand Vitara. Recently BS-VI norms kicked in and Maruti updated the Brezza. It rivals Tata Nexon, Ford Ecosport, Mahindra XUV 3OO,Renault Duster and Hyundai Venue. Vitara brezza has received a mid life face-lift, so let us see what Maruti Suzuki updated in this compact SUV.
Engine & Transmission
Vitara Brezza was powered by 1.3 L turbo Diesel engine and 1.5 L petrol engine, But due to BS6 norms Maruti Suzuki discontinued the diesel engine from its most of the cars. Now there is only a BS-VI compliant, inline-4 SOHC 1462 cc petrol engine. This engine produces 103 bhp of max torque at 6000 rpm and 138 Nm of max torque at 4400 rpm. This engine is very refined and emissions are also very less according to BS6 regulations. The most selling diesel engine is missing and Maruti said that there will no BS6 diesel engine not even in the near future.
This petrol engine is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission and a 4-speed Automatic transmission with torque converter. As per ARAI test, the manual version returned fuel economy of 17.03 kmpl and automatic returned 18.06 kmpl.
Exterior
Maruti Suzuki gave some design changes as well the engine upgradation in the Vitara Brezza. Starting from front, the noticeable change is the new chrome front grill. The grill is now some what similar to the internationally offered Gymni with a big Suzuki logo in the centre. On the side of the grill, we get a halogen projector headlamp with LED DRL and Chrome eyebrow on the upper part.
Lower down we get a new redesigned bumper with a new LED projector and a new housing. The bumper also gets a black bash palate as well.
Moving to the side, we get a floating roof line with blackened out A,B and C pillars. We get a gloss black roof in Dual tone variant. There are new precision cut alloy wheels. The tire size remain unchanged at 215/60 R16 This gets squared-off wheel arches which black plastic cladding. The cladding runs all the way down the car. This gives a sporty look to the car. We also gets roof rails and a roof mounted antenna.
On the rear we get a rear spoiler with high mounted stop lamp. We get new split LED tail-lamp. We get a black plastic bumper with a bash plate on the rear as well. The glass area is less with defoggers.
Interiors
In this mid life facelift, interior has remained almost untouched. We get the same Steering wheel with controls but now it is wrapped in leather. The instrument cluster gets a two pot analog display with a MID in centre. The push button start lies on the right side. In the centre we get a 8 inch touch screen infotainment display. This touch screen unit has received an update in the software, This display can be connected with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and even has turn by turn navigation. The front seats are also the same. The only two updates on the interior has been discussed. The rear seat can seat adults and it gets a centre armrest with twin cup-holders. The boot size is unchanged at 328 L.Safety
Vitara Brezza is one the few safest Maruti cars in India. It received 4-stars at Global NCAP test results. It gets dual airbags ABS and EBD as standard across the range. It also gets Brake Assist and Hill Hold Control as well. Brezza gets a dedicated proper 3 point seat-belt for all passengers.
On the rear seats, we get child seat anchor points, Remote central locking and speed sensing door lock.

Vitara Brezza is available in six solid colours and three optional dual tone colours. They are as follows:
Pearl Arctic White, Premium Silver, Autumn Orange, Sizzling Red, Granite Grey, Torque Blue.
Granite Grey with Autumn Orange Roof, Torque Blue with Black roof, Sizzling red with black roof.
