Honda Hornet 2.0

Honda Two Wheelers India has recently launched the all new Honda Hornet 2.0. This is the Japanese manufacturer's debut in the 180cc category. It competes with the motorcycles of 160-200 cc categories. Hornet 2.0 is the example of Honda's awakening for Indian market.

Hornet 2.0 is not the old 160 underneath, it has been revised thoroughly. It is based on the CB190R which is on sale in international markets. Starting with engine it gets the same 184.4 cc engine but in India this BS-VI compliant engine produces more power of 17.03 bhp at 8500 rpm and peak torque of 16.1 Nm at 600 rpm. This is street fighter motorcycle and the power and torque lies in the low and mid range. The engine gets Fuel injection and is mated to a 5-speed transmission via multi-plate wet clutch.
The motorcycle is under pinned by the CB190R's chassis. It is a diamond type tubular frame. On the front it gets golden upside down (USD) forks which are segment first equipment. On the rear it gets a mono shock absorber with a rectangular box swing-arm. It gets front 276 mm and a 220 mm rear petal discs to provide the required braking force. But gets only single channel ABS as standard. The tires are now wider, we have 110mm on front and 140 mm tire for rear.
Honda hornet 2.0 has got some new features too, it gets a engine kill switch which was missing from Honda's since a long time. It also gets a Hazard light switch to use in case of emergency and low visibility. Hornet 2.0 gets all LED lights, the front headlamp is LED including the turn indicators which really give a premium touch to the bike. The design of headlamp is the same and the tail light is still in X shape but with LEDs now. It gets new negative LCD instrument cluster. This cluster is modern and features a tachometer, speedometer, two trip meters, gear position indicator, clock and fuel level indicators. Basically there is enough data to display. There is a new advancement in terms of keyhole positioning, it is now mounted on tank like the 'big bikes'.
