2021 Maruti Suzuki Swift 

Third generation of Maruti Suzuki Swift was launched in 2018 and now its time for the facelift. This article will mostly focus on the changes in the facelift rather than the whole vehicle. It rivals Tata Altroz, Hyundai i20, Maruti Baleno, Tata Tiago, Hyundai Grand i10 Nios.  

Engine

K12N Dual jet engine

Starting from engine, and it is the major component which have been updated. Earlier a 1.2L NA petrol engine producing 82 bhp and 113 Nm powered the Swift . This engine is named K12M and was performing duties well in the car. Now in the facelift Maruti Suzuki Swift we have a 1.2 L NA petrol engine but this one is from K12N series and also called 1.2L Dual jet engine. It produced 89 horsepower and 113 Nm. The bore, stroke and displacement is same but higher compression ratio help to get that bump in power. This engine has also seen on Maruti Baleno and/or Toyata Glanza. It also has Mild Hybrid Start stop System which helps in gaining a round 2kmpl of fuel efficiency. This Swift now returns ARAI claimed mileage of 23.87 kmpl. 

This is mated to a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT transmission like before.

Exteriors

Front Design of Suzuki Swift has also been redone. The front grille used to be a piano black horizontal lines, now we get cross vents on the grill and a horizontal chrome bar above which lies the Suzuki logo. This has refreshed the front fascia and its all the changes for the front or rather exteriors. Rest the car is same as the pre facelifted version. From the side and rear even the Suzuki guys will not recognize it to be facelifted version. 'Why fix it when it ain't broke.' No doubt it is one of the beautiful hatchbacks on the sale in India.

Interiors 

Interiors have been carried over too. The main focus of the facelift Suzuki was a powerful and fuel efficient engine. The instrument cluster witnessed a change by getting a TFT color MID instead of basic LCD unit. It now matches the dials. Coolant temp meter and fuel gauge are now analog and neatly fitted in the vacant space on the earlier tacho and speedometer dials.

Colour MID console

The Touchscreen has been refreshed and made more responsive to touch anf function. It gets Apple CarPlay and Android Auto Connectivity.
Then there are some feature additions, It gets cruise control feature and auto folding ORVM feature which is pretty useful. For safety features it still gets ABS, EBD, child seat anchor point but now gets Hill Hold Assist and Electronic Stability Control as standard on AMT variants.

Colours & Price

Maruti Suzuki Swift facelift is now available in some more colour options: Newer one include Red with Black roof, White with Black roof and Blue with White roof. The pre-facelift colours are still available.
What has also changed are the prices, it is now costlier than before. It now starts from 5.73 Lakhs and goes till Rs 8.41 Lakhs
